Birth Record Books

The Saginaw County Clerk’s Office has vital records dating back to 1867.  These include birth records for individuals who were born in Saginaw County, marriage records for individuals who applied for their marriage license in Saginaw County, and death records for individuals who died in Saginaw County.

Certified copies are available for purchase and cost the same as the birth certificate fee structure ($15 for the first copy; $7 for each additional copy of the same record in the same visit).

Hours to request a record related to genealogy are Monday - Thursday 8am-4:30pm excluding county holidays.

Birth records must be at least 100 years old to become available for the public to request a copy of the record.  Marriage and death records are all available for the public to request a copy of the record.

You may request genealogy records through the mail; simply follow the instructions as listed on the Birth Certificates page.  In the case of a marriage or death certificate, we do not require identification, just the information needed to locate the record (dates, names, etc.).  The fee structure for a mail-in request is $16 for the first copy and $7 for each additional copy of the same record in the same request.  Send your request and payment to:  Saginaw County Clerk, 111 S. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, MI  48602.

In addition to our records, Hoyt Library maintains a vast amount of historical Saginaw County documents.
