Saginaw County Early Voting Center Opens this Saturday for the February 3rd Special Election for the 35th State Senate District
SAGINAW, Mich.- The Saginaw County Clerk’s Office is seeking to increase voter education by sharing the following information regarding the upcoming February 3rd Special Primary Election for the 35th State Senate District. Jurisdictions in the 35th Senate District include: Buena Vista Twp., Carrollton Twp., Saginaw Twp., Kochville Twp., Tittabawassee Twp., Zilwaukee Twp., City of Saginaw, and City of Zilwaukee.
Voters still have time to request an absentee ballot but are strongly encouraged to hand deliver their completed absentee ballots as soon as possible to their clerk’s office or ballot drop box to avoid postal delays. Voters may also bring their completed absentee ballot to their polling location or the Early Voting Center to be tabulated. The voter will need to check in at their polling place or the Early Voting Center and once verified, may approach the tabulator to insert their absentee ballot. This provides voters with the chance to review their absentee ballot at their leisure yet still be able to run their ballot through a tabulator.
Finally, voters can also utilize their constitutional right to nine (9) days of early in-person voting. Early voting will take place at the Saginaw County Early Voting Center located at 618 Cass St. Saginaw, MI, 48602, adjacent to the courthouse. The Center opens this Saturday, January 24th and will be available through Sunday, February 1st from 9am to 5pm, and from 9am to 7pm on the Wednesday before the election. The Early Voting Center allows voters to insert their ballot into a tabulator prior to Election Day, however no results will be tabulated or released prior to 8pm on Election Day.
“The Saginaw County Early Voting Center is open to all registered Saginaw County Voters. It’s safe, secure and a convenient way to cast your ballot on your own time,” said Saginaw County Clerk Vanessa Guerra.
