Regional Medical Examiners Facility

Brief Description:
- Having our own medical examiner’s facility could help attract future forensic pathology talent and retain current talent. Having guaranteed access to a well-qualified forensic pathologist is a significant asset that many counties do not have.
- Opportunities such as autopsy space rental to other municipalities and hospitals will drive revenue.
- Partnerships with universities will create lasting community partnerships and help create talent pipeline.
- Lower transportation costs will benefit the County and families of the deceased both in cost and time.

- Current stage: Financial evaluation of project completed; design drawings, equipment and needs assessment completed.
